Mingun Pagoda

There is an interesting back-story to this unusual and magnificent pagoda which was meant to be the biggest pagoda in the world. Rumour has it that the King, who decided to build such a massive temple, had been told by an astronomer that once the Pagoda was finished he would die and the Kingdom would turn into ashes. Thus Mingun Pagoda was left unfinished and abandoned, but, nevertheless, survived 2 big earthquakes, and now with huge cracks running down It’s sides looks even more special, grandiose and stunning.
